Job Purpose: To manage a large fleet of trucks with responsibility for efficiency and turnaround as well as maximize the utilization of the fleet while containing costs in the operations of the business.

Responsibilities
• Plan, organize & direct the work of the section to meet objectives with the most efficient use of personnel, facilities & equipment.
• Administer activities connected with the purchase of garage tools, automotive repair supplies, repair parts & accessories. Develop a testing and inspection program to determine quality & suitability & compliance with specifications for vehicles, parts, accessories & materials.
• Prepare monthly reports and projections on the mileage covered against the returns on investment.
• Develop and implement fleet management plans that will guarantee the availability of a well maintained and serviced fleet.
• Manage the company service providers such as garages to ensure all vehicles are serviced, repaired and maintained in a timely and professional manner and that all legal requirements such as inspections, licenses and insurances are acquired on time.
• Ensure that spare parts are procured cost effectively and as per specifications, monitor vehicles usage and running costs and make appropriate recommendations to management on the same.

Requirements
• Degree in Logistics or a comparable degree with additional related business management or equivalent
• Must have minimum 15 yrs experience in similar position and be tuned into the conditions and dynamics of East Africa
• Prior experience in fleet management including monitoring vehicle performance, managing running costs and records maintenance; experience working with Heavy Commercial Vehicles (HCV’s) is a must.
• Experience/knowledge in motor vehicle maintenance including troubleshooting and procurement of spare parts.
• Should have a sound knowledge of workshop operations/mechanics and be a solid team leader.
• Experience working with third parties such as garages, suppliers, insurance companies, licensing bodies etc.
• Excellent supervisory and reporting skills are key
• Ready to work for long hours

Summary:
Reporting to the Deputy Director IT, the Systems Analyst/developer will work closely with the Network Administrator, as well as 3rd party development consultants to manage the technology and computer infrastructure that will drive the organizations business systems in the national office and 7 regional offices across.

The Systems Analyst/Developer position will require strong business skills and will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing and occasionally modifying systems including encoding, testing, debugging and installing to support application systems.

The incumbent will consult with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives. S/he will also be responsible for writing documentation to describe custom configuration of applications and operating procedures to liaison with third party application development consultants.

Responsibilities:
• Provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new and existing IT systems, software projects and initiatives to support and enhance their secure and efficient use.
• Make recommendations on custom applications which include a number of MS-Access data capture systems and other databases which need to be moved into a central SQL repository.
• Investigate, coordinate and resolve application functionality related issues and provide first level support and troubleshooting of our ERP and other systems.
• Provide helpdesk assistance and advice to business users in the effective use of applications and information technology including induction of new users. S/he will also provide user training to users on use of New IT systems to ensure efficient use of IT investment as needed.
• Provide SQL administration in live and test environments and assist in the performance and testing of systems backup as well as recovery as may be required.
• Assist in managing an outsource relationship for 3rd party application development and programming consultants.
• Assist the network administrator with application installation and testing.
• Responsible for the development and maintenance of the company intranet (SharePoint) and website (XAMPP).
• Write technical procedures and documentation for custom systems applications including operations, user guide, for new and existing applications.
• Participate on IT project steering committees and be involved in the design phase of any new IT software development projects.
• Serve as a liaison and facilitator between all business units to assist in addressing and resolving IT software issues.

Qualifications:
• Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems supplemented with one or more courses in current technology. SharePoint, PhP, Web design, Joomla, Drupal. SQL/MySql training is also essential.
• Should have a minimum of 4 years experience in the field or in a related area with at least 2 years hands-on technical experience in the field.
• You must have working knowledge of relational databases, web and client-server concepts, and be able to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Extensive knowledge of data processing, hardware platforms, and enterprise software applications.
• Technical experience with systems networking, databases, Web development, and user support.
• Good background in Database design in Microsoft SQL and Linux platforms.
• Background in Microsoft .NET, Visual Basic, Excel, Word, Outlook and HTML.
• Good working knowledge skills with Microsoft Office Products, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Project.
• Strong project management skills with effective results focus within an information systems environment as well as strong analytical and problem solving skills.
